A Brief Summary of 2018
2018 proved to be an exceptional year as our fundraising enabled us to help a record number of children in Somerset.
Another sell out Fashion Show was held in Wedmore, kindly hosted by Lime Boutique. An evening of fashion accompanied by supper and wine proves to be an unbeatable combination! The proceeds, together with a matched funding contribution from our bankers, Barclays, raised over £3,500.
The ever popular Christmas Coffee Morning was once again a great success and is a lovely way to start the festive season.
Donations from a wide variety of sources continue to form a vital part of our income. This year we received donations from many individuals, shop collection tins, business donations, a U3A group and several church collections. We collect Gift Aid on qualifying donations from HMRC. We are incredibly grateful to all individuals and groups who donate to our cause, as without this generosity we should not be able to help as many children.
This income, together with funds from 2017 enabled us to help 32 children with items costing from under £100 to well over £3,000. We bought four specialist trikes, five car seats, four Ppod supportive seating systems, a standing frame, two walkers, communication apps, visual aids, sleep systems and a variety of sensory toys and Switch adapted toys.
