A Brief Summary of 2023
2023 started off with Help the Child being chosen by Burnham and Berrow Golf Club to be their Charity for the year. From then on our Fundraising Co-ordinator and the Golf Club Captain worked tirelessly throughout the year, culminating in the charity receiving a cheque for nearly £36,000 from the Club and an interview with Simon Parkin on BBC Radio Somerset. Our grateful thanks to Symon Clifford, Club Captain, and Burnham and Berrow Golf Club for what is the largest amount of money ever received by Help the Child.
The Fashion Show at Wedmore Village Hall on the 27 April was a great success, enjoyed by all and went ahead as usual without a hitch.
Somerset Art Weeks, mainly organised by our Treasurer and generously hosted by Angela Uren, was very enjoyable and our thanks also go to all the artists involved for their generosity.
Alice Aske contributed by bravely attempting her first Half Marathon and succeeding.
The Coffee Morning on the 4 December ran smoothly and, again, we would like to thank Burnham and Berrow Golf Club for their support in hosting this event.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to everyone on the committee - we all do our bit in different ways at different times and together we make a fantastic team. We have another exciting year ahead but most important are the children and parents whose lives we can help to make a little easier.
