A Brief Summary of 2015

A busy and eventful year enabled us to assist 27 children in Somerset with the provision of specialised equipment.

We had been well aware that in today's world, a web presence was essential, but diverting funds that were raised for helping children seemed unethical. We were, therefore, delighted to receive a donation specifically to get this website up and running. This has increased our profile and enables us to let our supporters know about how the charity works and what we do in more detail.

Fundraising continued throughout the year with a sell out spring Fashion Show held in Wedmore Village Hall. In October, we were chosen as the designated charity of one of the venues for Somerset Arts Weeks, and this resulted in a massive boost to our funds. Following on from this, a most successful Open House was held in Shapwick. To round off the year, we held our annual Christmas Fair in Brent Knoll Village Hall, with children from the local primary school adding to the festive atmosphere by singing carols.

In addition, we received donations from a wide variety of sources - collection tins in shops, open gardens, tennis tournaments, caravan sites and fun runs. All these donations mean that we are able to help even more children in Somerset.

Twenty seven children were helped by funding a wide variety of items. Six were provided with sleep, seating or standing support systems, six with adapted trikes and three with specialist communication software. In addition, sensory toys and switch adapted toys have been bought, together with specialist buggies and accessories.
